So it appears that Trump has violated a number of laws when he absconded with highly classified documents after leaving the White House. Not only did he take these files, he hid them, lied to the Justice Department when they attempted to recover them and instructed his minions to hide them from investigators.
I am not the least bit surprised.
Trump is just another rich guy who ignores whatever rules he doesn’t like and does whatever he wants. He knows his political power and money will shield him from the consequences that any normal citizen might face (like imprisonment, treason charges, life destroying financial penalties, etc.)
I expect he trial will be a circus, since the lead clown will use it as a platform to promote himself – as usual.
He’s an embarrassment for our country.
Even though he’s no different many other wealthy elites, his boorish behavior, lies and in-your-face f**k you has set a new low standard for public conduct.
My prediction is he will get away with a slap on the wrist, at most. This won’t bring him “down”.
I sure do hope he doesn’t get re-elected as President in 2024 but only time will tell.
My only solace is knowing that I will likely outlive him. Eventually he’ll die, full of bitter anger, misanthropy and bile.
