I like Christmas Season. I like walking the dogs and seeing the houses all lit up with decorations. I like seeing trees inside people’s homes and their families and friends gathering for a Christmas party. I like how everyone seems to be a little bit kinder, gentler and easygoing.
But if it was up to me, I’d cancel it altogether. For me, Christmas (and New Year’s) are a disruption to my idyllic life. My pools are closed for at least 5 days over the season. My backup pools are closed at least half of those days and jam packed with holiday visitors, college kids on break and regular daily lunatics like myself all trying to squeeze in some laps.
It’s amateur hour at the grocery store with people who never shop clogging the aisles as they search for odd ingredients. Traffic sucks as the roads get filled with shoppers. The vet even gets extra busy with people setting up last minute grooming and boarding for their dogs.
Bah Humbug.
As much as I despise January and February, I can’t wait until it’s January 2.
