It seems like every twenty-something-year-old on the internet who has a social media presence calls himself an entrepreneur. This includes life coaches, influencers, bloggers, instagram celebrities, Tik Tokers and YouTubers who are trying to make money pitching products and selling clicks.
You’re not an entrepreneur- you’re unemployed.
If someone on Social Media says their mission is to “Inspire You To Live Your Best Life”, they’re lying. You should be especially suspicious if they are a motivational speaker. They think calling themselves an entrepreneur who inspires sounds better than saying:
- I’m a freelancer with no paid gigs.
- I get my jobs on Fiverr.
- I am a 1099 contractor.
- I drive for Uber & Lyft to pay my rent.
- I live with my parents.
- I’m unemployed.
I’m calling bullshit. Just tell me the truth.
“I’m trying to become popular enough that I don’t have to work a real job. I want easy money and to become rich and famous shooting videos from my bedroom about what clothes I wear.”
That I can appreciate.
