Lately, the antics of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Robert and Andrew Tate have dominated the news and many podcasts. I pay no attention to any of these discussions. I don’t look at their pictures. I don’t read their Tweets. I won’t listen to commentary about them. Zip. Zilch. Nada. They don’t interest me in the least.
People who seek attention with combative, bombastic and simply, inappropriate behavior are nothing new. For a while, they might succeed in dominating the news. They might be able to raise funds, get re-elected and sign lucrative contracts. But eventually, everyone gets weary of their schtick and moves on.
So I’m not worried about the “fate of democracy” because of a few idiotic blowhards. Nor am I worried about the “hordes of young men” influenced by scam artists leveraging misogyny (or at best, a complete lack of chivalry) to peddle MLM scams.
I’ve got better things to worry about that have more impact on world right now. Things like:
- Is it going rain while I’m walking the dog?
- Should I paint my bathroom burgundy?
- What am I going to do with all the paintings I am making?
- Is my foot healed enough to try drumming again?
As for the assholes, the world is full of them and they are not my problem to solve.
