Recently, the US Supreme Court ruled on a case from a Web Design Company that refused to create a website for a gay marriage – in theory. Because, actually, nobody had approached the web design company to request this service. It was a “hypothetical case”.
WTF?
How did this make it all the way to the US Supreme Court?
A few years back, a bakery in Colorado refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple’s marriage. That case made it to the US Supreme Court too.
Doesn’t anyone remember the catering scenes from Fight Club? Why would you possibly want to give your hard earned money to a business that hates you? Even stupider, why would you do this for someone who is preparing your food?
I’m not an idiot, I get that these were both being used as precedent setting cases. Each side was funded and supported by political activist organizations who were using the cases for their cause. (And lest we get distracted, let’s never forget, that cause always includes fundraising to support the salaries of the people in the organizations).
What a waste of the Supreme Court, the public’s time and the exorbitant amount of money spent by the government and taxpayers.
I’ve got a better idea – if you run into a business that hates you or your lifestyle, shop somewhere else.
