Unproductive Hypocricy

Posted on June 14, 2024June 15, 2024 by Steve Ainslie

This morning while walking the dogs I was thinking about recent news podcasts where the reporters were pointing out how specific politicians were being hypocritical. It doesn’t really matter who they were referencing. You can select any politician, from any country and any political party and find examples of this.

It occurred to me that calling someone a hypocrite never changes anything. If you dislike them, you are already aware of their lies, manipulation and hypocritical behavior. If you like them, you will rationalize their behavior with excuses or denial.

And if someone is confronted by another person calling him a hypocrite, he (the hypocrite) will deny it while becoming defensive or argumentative.

So what’s the point in saying it at all?

More importantly, why do I say it?

I realized that it’s important for me to recognize hypocritical behavior because I use this as a measure of a person’s character. I don’t like liars, con men and hucksters. I judge a man by his words and deeds.

And so I won’t be writing about the obvious hypocrisy from politicians, far-right and far-left lunatics, or other public figures anymore.

If you’re reading my blog, you already can see when the Emperor Has No Clothes.

And if you disagree, nothing I could write would convince you otherwise.
