In addition to the price of groceries, utilities, gas and many staples, I am now seeing that just about everything I buy has increased in price over the past year. I don’t believe it is “just inflation”. Like I’ve said before, if you follow the money, it is clear that companies are taking advantage of “inflation news” to jack up their prices across the board to milk every drop of profit they can from consumers.
It irritates me when I go to Amazon to buy something that I purchased 3 months ago and suddenly it costs 25% more. WTF? Did China suddenly increase their wages? Not likely. Did the cost for raw materials or shipping suddenly surge? Nope.
Amazon’s algorithms decided they could jack up my price and I would still buy. Heck, I probably wouldn’t even notice a few dollar increase here and there. Right?
Wrong.
I notice because I check.
Some items, like dog food, I have no choice. I’ll price shop between Chewy and Amazon, but usually they charge the exact same price (gee what a coincidence). So I’ll wait for sales/discounts and buy at those times when possible.
Other items, I’ve decided not to buy at all. I will do without.
I’m just not going to quietly acquiesce and increase my cost of living 25% across the board.
I’ll just go away.
