I Remembered

Posted on December 14, 2023 by Steve Ainslie

Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of the day my wife died. If anyone noticed, they did not mention it to me.

I hadn’t expected anyone to reach out to me. My friends, family and ex-family are all aware of the last year of her life, her cancer battle and her death. But I didn’t expect any of them to reach out to me. The memories of my wife’s life and death are my own to carry.

I hope they remember how much she loved them all. I hope they remember her bright eyes and big cheesy grin. I hope they remember her laugh, her joy and her zest for life.

I remember.

I will never forget.

I miss you Babe.
