Less News, More Swimming

Posted on September 10, 2020September 4, 2021 by Steve Ainslie

I’m weary of Covid-19. Although the social distancing guidelines only minimally impact my daily life, I never expected life would become a constant bombardment of virus speculation 24×7.

I am intentionally limiting my exposure to “news”, discussion and internet speculation. Instead I’m focusing on hyper local events and activity like walking my dogs, swimming, yard work and talking to the people around me.

My life is better when I don’t give politics, pandemic theater and fear mongering space in my head.

Swimming has been fantastic. After 8 weeks I’m back to where I was pre-lockdown. I really enjoy seeing a few more people every day too.

In a pleasant twist of fate, I think I’ve been getting hit on recently. Now that I realize it, I’m going to respond.

It will be interesting to see if it leads to anything.
