Wash, Rinse, Repeat…Getting Through My Least Favorite Month

Posted on February 17, 2021September 4, 2021 by Steve Ainslie

Same old same old here – I exercise. I swim. I drum. I learn new skills. I walk for hours a day with Wiggles. I eat a super strict carnivore diet. I spend most of my time engaged in challenging yet satisfying solo activities.

Although I’d love to have some income coming in, I don’t miss work at all. Retirement is fantastic as far as I’m concerned.

My drumming is reaching levels I didn’t know existed for me. I’ve made phenomenal progress sight reading new music and then coordinating independent 4 limb playing. It’s as if everything is happening in slow motion but my mind and body are moving at normal speed.

I think my mental clarity has something to do with my carnivore diet and being in ketosis.

It also makes my energy levels very high, yet stable. I rarely have mood swings and never fall into “food comas” anymore.

I have never had this much mental clarity in my life. Nor have I had ripped abs and bulging biceps. So that’s all been pretty cool.

I’m looking forward to getting a Covid vaccine sometime this year – hopefully by the summer if supplies are available. Since I’m in the final tier, by the time I am vaccinated our region should be getting back to some semblance of pre-Covid 19 normalcy.

I’m ready for a little less social distancing and a little more social contact.
