I Love Not Being On The Road

Posted on November 6, 2020September 4, 2021 by Steve Ainslie

My life continues to be consistently fantastic.

I wake at 4:45AM, feed and walk the dogs in the predawn hours and then workout for the rest of the morning.

I swim every afternoon.

I walk Wiggles several times a day for several hours total regardless of the weather.

I play the drums most days. I paint a few times a week. Some weeks I write for my blog.

I have continued chatting up the people I see everyday – at the pool, when walking the dog and around my neighborhood. I’ve made loose connections and started learning people’s names. It’s pretty nice and beats looking for social discourse online.

Some people would find my life boring and predictable.  To me it is rich and full.

Many times throughout each week, I think about my life “on the road” and am grateful for the things I now have like a house, running water, plumbing, heat, swimming, a garage to workout in and a real bed to sleep in

My road trip taught me many lessons. Gratitude for the many things I took for granted has been one of the most rewarding.
