Occasionally, the podcasts I listen to will interview Presidential Candidates. Because I enjoy the podcast hosts and their thoughtful interviews, I’ll even listen to these episodes because it gives me more context than the news.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a number of candidates from different parties who seem to be intelligent, coherent, measured and reasoned. They’ve got almost no chance of winning the election or even being nominated by either of the two major parties, but I can always hope.
I expect that any candidate who gets elected President will lie and be a disappointment, as always.
Still, it would be refreshing to have a President who at least is not a moron. I appreciated that with Obama and Clinton. Even though they were liars who protected the wealthy elites while failing to deliver on their promises, at least they were not stupid.
Presidents like Bush II and Trump were an embarrassment. Biden is only marginally better. He seems to be nearly as dumb, but at least he demonstrates some decorum and class.
With any luck, the dumbest candidates will die before the election and we’ll be forced to choose among younger and hopefully brighter politicians.
