I wrote a long draft post about immigration yesterday. In it, I included my thoughts on immigration, crime, deportation, my experience with immigrants, my disappointment at being unable to emigrate to certain countries, “fairness”, rules and other adjacent considerations.
Today, after I reviewed my draft, I deleted it.
Because what do I know about immigration? Almost nothing.
Sure, I have my opinions. I have even done some reading on immigration and history, particularly in the US.
But when I reviewed my post, it occurred to me that it would add literally nothing to the discourse around immigration that is prevalent today.
So instead, I’ll keep my thoughts to myself.
