I’ve got a few small projects I’m currently working on:
- Getting ripped. I dropped from 148 lbs to 135 lbs to 130-131 lbs by reducing the volume of food I’ve been eating. It was thrilling to see my bicep vein pop out and the beginnings of washboard abs over the past several months. Then I binged twice in two weeks on junk foods and jumped up to 135 lbs -137 lbs and saw my abs disappear again. I don’t know if I can can sustain a weight under 135 consistently but I want to give it a shot to see how lean I can get without being hungry all the time. We’ll see how this goes.
- Pen and ink “etching style” drawing. I’ve been following the lessons in a book for several months. Each day I spend about an hour working on this technique. It’s slow and detailed work but quite absorbing and relaxing. Sometimes I’m disappointed at the end of the day with the results. Usually, when I look at my work the next morning, I am pleasantly surprised how much I like what I drew the previous day.
- Growing my beard. This one requires almost zero work but lots of patience. When I had my beard in high school and college, it was brown and soft. I looked like Jesus Christ with my beard and long hair back then. I’ve had multiple fits and starts of growing my beard over the past several years but always shaved it off after a few weeks because it came in gray & white and felt very coarse instead of soft. I thought it made me look old compared to being clean shaven too. But guess what? I am old. And gray. So I decided I don’t give a sh!t if if makes me look older. I want to see if I like the bald headed with beard look better than clean shaven.
That’s my exciting life*.
You can see why I have no plans to start a podcast. I’d run out of things to say in about 3 minutes.
*It’s a great life. I have no desire for more excitement.
