I am reading a book called “STFU: The Power of Keeping Your Mouth Shut in an Endlessly Noisy World“. It begins with the author describing himself as a “talkaholic”. He then writes about research into overtalkers, provides a self-assessment test and details discussions he had with academics about his issue.
His issue is not my issue. I’ve always been an observer and listener vs. a talker. I talk when I have something to say. Otherwise, I prefer to keep my mouth shut.
But as I delved into the later chapters, I realized that at times I “talk too much” in my blog and occasionally when I speak with people. I tend to give too much history and detail to explain my thoughts and actions.
So, I’m going to focus on editing my posts to be shorter and more direct.
Since blogging is a one way conversation, I have no idea if my readers will appreciate this.
But, as a reader, I know that I uwill.
