I spent much of my life waiting for something better.
- In preschool, I couldn’t wait until I was a first-grader.
- After Sunday family dinners at my Grandmother’s house, I couldn’t wait until an hour had passed so we could go swimming.
- In high school, I couldn’t;t wait until I graduated and went to college.
- In college, I couldn’t wait until I graduated and started working.
- Once working, I couldn’t wait until I got a better job.
- Then eventually, I couldn’t wait until I could retire.
I also spent much of my life waiting for something worse.
- Dentist appointments
- Giving a speech or presentation
- Work travel
- Hernia surgery
- Winter
- Hurricanes
- Death
Although I am not good at predicting the future, some events like those I listed above are nearly 100% guaranteed.
Regardless of how much I look forward to something or dread something, eventually, that day will come.
And then, it will pass.
Time marches on.
