Barring death or disablement, either Joe Biden or Donald Trump will be elected our next president in 2024. Marjorie Taylor Green and AOC will continue to hold onto their positions in Congress. Lauren Boebert just won her primary in a landslide. Chuck Shumer, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McDonnell and hundreds of other congresspeople will be re-elected by their constituents.

Many citizens believe the right to own whatever gun you want is so important that it is worth paying the price that comes from lone wolf massacres, school shootings and the many gunshot murders that happen every day in our country. Other citizens believe the government should have stricter gun laws and control.
Over the next few months, we’re going to see a plethora of bumper stickers, yard signs, rallies, protests and media both supporting and castigating: Trump/Biden, Liberals/Conservatives, Palestine/Israel, War/Peace and every other issue affecting Americans.
Here’s something I’ve come to realize.
This is us – the citizens of the US.
No matter how moronic, pathetic, self-serving and cruel I think certain leaders, positions and “professed values” are, I suspect that somewhere between 25%-75% of my fellow citizens feel the opposite of the way I do.
Or, at least, they vote that way to support the people and policies I disagree with.
And since I live in the US, I have to live with it.
So do all of us.
Maybe it is time for us to stop fighting each other all the time since it doesn’t seem to change anyone’s mind.
