About a week ago I made a major change to my diet. So far, so good. I’ve dropped a few pounds. I am sleeping better. I have had no stomach or digestion issues. And surprisingly, I feel very energetic and enthusiastic.
In addition to eating less, I’ve switched to eating just one meal a day. I eat my first meal 8-9 hours after I wake because I like to exercise on an empty stomach. By the time I finish my dog walks, workouts and swim, it’s around 2PM.
Before this change, I would eat my first meal at that time. Then I’d eat dinner around 4 hours later before winding down for the evening.
The thing is, I’m often not hungry at dinner time. I’m still kind of full from lunch.
So for the past week, I’ve skipped the second meal.
Instead, I read, play with the dogs, watch Netflix, write and mess around on the Internet.
There’s only been one problem. I have so much energy that I’m waking up earlier and getting things done faster each day. Without spending an hour ot two eating dinner, I’m finding myself ready to wind down earlier in the evening. This sets me up to fall asleep earlier and wake up a little bit earlier each day.
I’m not too worried about it.
First, we shift to Daylight Savings Time this weekend so I’ll “lose” an hour with the clocks being set forward.
Second, I’m on the hunt to find a new hobby. Drumming is out. Drawing and painting have lost their appeal. Writing is good, as long as I have something to say.
There will be inevitable repairs or home maintenance tasks that pop up but nothing is urgent right now.
Eventually I’ll find something intriguing, challenging and interesting to latch onto. What that will be, I’m not sure.
