How someone feels about you is how they treat you.
– Mel Robbins
I heard Mel Robbins say this on the Modern Wisdom podcast. Although I often find her advice banal and cliche, she nailed it this time.
When someone tells me they love me, I usually think, not really.
When someone calls themself my friend, I think – I have had many acquaintances throughout my life and a handful of true friends.
Even with the ebbs and flows of friendship, true friends always reveal themselves with their actions.
Mel’s wise words apply to every relationship.
- Dating
- Family
- Coworkers
- Teammates
- Friends/Enemies/Competitors/Partners
- Mentors
- Parents
- Children
- Government (especially politicians)
- Influencers
How someone feels about you is how they treat you. In many cases, they aren’t thinking about you at all.
That’s OK too – because now you have a way to know.
