Uniting The United States

Posted on July 17, 2024 by Steve Ainslie

I heard Yuval Levin on this podcast yesterday speaking about the United States, our political system, the constitution, divisiveness and, most importantly, how to fix our problems.

I was so intrigued with his discourse, knowledge and ideas that I will be reading his two most recent books on the subject soon. In the meantime, I wanted to recommend the podcast linked above. He spoke about the assignation attempt on Trump, the rhetoric between the right and the left, how our government was designed to work and what it is like when it is working. (Hint – there has always been divisiveness, negotiations, compromise and power struggles – it was designed that way on purpose.)

He says that we have to accept diversity of thought and learn (or relearn) how to live with people we disagree with. He explains why and also how we can do this.

I highly recommend listening to this podcast episode for any of my readers. I hope you find it as illuminating and though provoking as I did.

I’ll write more on this subject after reading his books.
