When I was scooting my kitchen chair back from the table last week, I hard to push hard enough that I thought I better replace the felt pads on the legs because they must be worn down again. I have felt pads on the legs of all my furniture because it makes it easy to slide my furniture around when I’m vacuuming or when I need to move it for any other reason. Plus it protects my floor from scratches.
Lately, I noticed my kitchen chair has seemed sticky and it’s been a bit challenging to drag my bed around so I can vacuum under it. So, it occurred to me, why not put wheels on both?
And so I did.
It has made a unbelievable difference. My kitchen chair now glides smoothly across the floor with the push of a finger. No dragging, no effort required whatsoever.
I put locking wheels on my bed so it doesn’t fly all over the room when Wiggles or I jump into it. After I unlock the wheels, I can maneuver it around with one hand to get under it to vacuum.
It’s amazing what a difference $15 of parts and a half hour of installation makes. I wish I’d thought of this 30 years ago.
