Incels, political fighting, loneliness “epidemic”, manhood “crisis”, lack of friends, estranged family, overconsumption, obesity, insta-envy, AI, dystopian future…
If you read the news, listen to podcasts or spend any time online you subjected to ann onslaught of these issues. You may even feel that some apply to you – or that you are inflicted with pain because of them.
That may be true.
Then again, there may be a simpler answer:
You’re Online Too Much.
I won’t go into an old man rant about this. I think we all know the truth about this. Being online seems easy, convenient and conflict-free.
Much like processed food, it’s a false promise.
It’s easy to consume too much while still not obtaining the nourishment you actually need.
I had an unintentional respite from news and online vitriol since Christmas. First, all the podcasts took a two week break for the holidays m. After that I spent the next two weeks diving deep into my project.
And the world seems like a better place. Or, at least, my little world seems like a better place. I was unaware of 95% of the crap that is constantly being spewed at us to ensure we’ll feel terrible.
